Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Europe Healthcare Procurement Transportation Supervisor to join our Healthcare Procurement team. This strategic role requires expertise in healthcare transportation procurement and logistics across Europe. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, operational excellence, and technical knowledge of healthcare logistics, including regulatory compliance, cost control, and vendor management.
As part of the European healthcare procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing, optimizing, and managing transportation services for healthcare products across Europe. You will oversee a small team, analyze data, and ensure operational excellence, reporting directly to the Europe & LATAM Healthcare Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead procurement and sourcing strategies for healthcare transportation services across Europe, ensuring selection of top providers, negotiating contracts, pricing, SLAs, and conducting RFIs, RFPs, RFQs.
* Negotiate and draft transportation contracts, including pricing, terms, service levels, penalties, and risk management clauses, collaborating with Legal to ensure favorable conditions and compliance.
* Analyze transportation data such as volumes, costs, and performance metrics; provide insights to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve service.
* Ensure compliance with local and international regulations like GDP and GMP, and mitigate risks related to non-compliance and delays.
* Develop strategies for continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies, and ensure activities stay within budget and timelines. Report on KPIs like on-time delivery and cost-per-shipment.
* Supervise one direct report, providing mentorship, training, and guidance on procurement, supplier management, and data analysis.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation suppliers and logistics partners; conduct performance reviews and resolve operational issues.
* Collaborate with internal teams across logistics, compliance, finance, and operations to align procurement strategies with business goals.
* Report regularly to leadership on procurement performance, vendor performance, cost savings, and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
* At least 3 years in procurement and logistics, with 1-2 years in transportation services within healthcare or regulated industries.
* Deep knowledge of healthcare logistics, pharmaceutical transportation, temperature-sensitive shipments, and compliance standards.
* Strong analytical skills and experience with large transportation datasets; ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Proven negotiation and contract management skills with transportation providers.
* Fluency in English and Italian; proficiency in German, French, or Spanish is a plus.
* Technical proficiency with TMS, ERP systems (Oracle Cloud, Coupa), and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
* Willingness to travel occasionally across Europe.
