Purpose of the Position
NDT Engineer – respond to Non Destruct Test Management and be part of the Asset Based Services Business Line within the PIPEN department / Pipelines Technologies scope. Support the Non Destruct Test team.
Responsibilities
* Interpret codes, standards, and contractual documents relevant to NDT and welding disciplines.
* Prepare and verify procedures for specific NDT methods (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT and VT).
* Select methods and techniques for specific inspections.
* Develop and update project specifications for subcontractors and ensure compliance by evaluating NDT processes.
* Witness and guide procedures and qualification tests at site, providing guidance to NDT technicians onshore/offshore.
* Supervise AUT/PAUT qualifications & other conventional NDT qualification processes according to DNV-ST-F101, ASME V codes and equivalents.
* Communicate clearly and effectively in oral, written and e‑mail formats to co‑workers and subordinates as a company representative.
* Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives with continuous quality focus.
* Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
* Work effectively with a diverse community and a wide range of constituencies.
Qualifications
* Education: Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Production or Electronics.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years as an NDT Engineer within the Oil & Gas industry.
* Languages: English B1 level.
* Technical Skills: Pipeline and Subsea Modules (piping and structural) project experience; at least 5 years in similar industry.
* Extensive technical and practical experience in pipeline, piping and structural engineering within multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
* EN ISO Level 2 in UT, RT, MPI and PT; PAUT training certified; EN ISO Level 3 in UT is a plus.
* Excellent technical and practical engineering skills with consistent delivery of quality, accurate and timely work.
* Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and ultrasonic specific software (ESBeamTool, CIVA, etc.).
* Ability to work in a multicultural business environment.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
