Mission
We are looking for a
BIW Shop Launch Manager
to lead the preparation, execution, and stabilization of the Body Shop (BIW) during new vehicle launches and industrial changes, ensuring full
product & process readiness
, program delivery on time and within budget, and a smooth transition to serial production.
The role guarantees manufacturability and producibility of the product, in line with
Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Ergonomics targets
, leveraging SPW principles and standards.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent experience)
Strong experience in
Manufacturing – Body Shop / Welding (BIW)
Proven track record in:
Vehicle launches and industrial ramp-ups
Body Shop equipment and process integration
Managing cross-functional industrial teams
Experience in project management within manufacturing environments
Skills
Technical Skills
Deep knowledge of Body Shop processes:
Welding technologies (spot welding, laser, MIG/MAG, etc.)
Body assembly processes and geometry control
Fixtures, robots, and automation systems
Experience with:
Industrialization and process validation
KPI management (quality, OPR, cost, timing)
Defect detection, containment, and resolution during launch
Understanding of:
Transformation cost structure (DST, DSTR, capex, energy)
Design-to-Manufacturing convergence
Familiarity with SPW methodology and launch governance
Soft Skills
Strong leadership managing both
white-collar and blue-collar teams
Excellent project management and coordination skills
Ability to drive launch activities under timing and cost constraints
Strong problem-solving mindset in complex, high-pressure environments
Effective stakeholder management across plant, engineering, and program teams
Scope & Impact
Lead
overall plant launch activities for Welding Shop
, coordinating production, maintenance, quality, and engineering
Represent the plant within Manufacturing / Platform teams
Ensure
plant readiness (X0, slow build, ramp-up)
and manage defect detection and resolution
Drive
quality convergence and performance targets
(OPR, DST, workstations, investments)
Manage Process Project Leaders and ensure KPI deployment
Guarantee alignment between
product design and manufacturing feasibility
