Job Overview
Global Engineering Services (GES) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng) is searching for an innovative and solutions‐oriented engineering project leader to lead the initiative of developing and delivering next generation, world‐class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on both design and process design engineering for GES.
We're looking to add a high‐impact engineer to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high‐quality, cost‐effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects may include green‐fields, brown‐fields, and retrofits, including highly automated fulfillment centers, cross‐dock facilities, and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template‐based and designed‐from‐scratch, along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.
There will be 25% regional travel and availability to work in one of the listed locations when not traveling. Candidates should live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high‐quality, cost‐effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
- Effectively communicate skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

About the Team
Firm Engineering owns mechanical firm design for First Mile retrofits and Middle Mile POR and Retrofits designs. The pillar also provides electrical, controls, and software integration support across all First and Middle Mile building types.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Operations, Business, Project Management or Engineering
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high‐speed manufacturing
- Experience with process design based on Lean Principles
- Experience with project management
- Experience with concepts such as system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of technical engineering experience
Location‐based Salary Range
- USA, CA, San Francisco – $114,200.00 – $185,000.00 USD annually
- USA, MA, Boston – $99,300.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually
- USA, NY, New York – $109,200.00 – $185,000.00 USD annually
- USA, TN, Nashville – $94,300.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin – $99,300.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Houston – $99,300.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Irving – $99,300.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington – $99,300.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually
