Position: Mechanical Engineering Technologists and Technicians - AI Trainer
Type: Contract
Compensation: $59 - $114/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Apply mechanical engineering principles to train and evaluate AI systems focused on mechanical design, manufacturing, and R&D tasks.
Interpret engineering sketches, blueprints, and technical drawings to improve AI model understanding and accuracy.
Develop test cases and datasets based on real-world mechanical systems assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting scenarios.
Collaborate with engineering teams and AI developers to identify knowledge gaps and refine technical datasets.
Review project instructions and simulate common engineering challenges for AI learning modules.
Translate complex mechanical concepts into clear, structured documentation for AI training purposes.
Support engineers and AI trainers by addressing technical queries related to mechanical fabrication, testing, and system adjustments.
Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Technician, or similar role.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications.
Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision in documentation and technical analysis.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, fast-paced team environment.
Adaptability and comfort working with digital collaboration tools.
Prior experience with AI, machine learning, or data annotation projects is preferred.
Background or exposure to automotive engineering or automotive systems is preferred.
Experience working within remote or distributed engineering teams is preferred.
