ROLE SUMMARY:
The International School of Como (ISC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Italian PYP Teacher to join our Primary School from January 2026 or as soon as possible. The successful candidate will teach Italian language and literature to native or near-native Italian-speaking students across the Primary Years Programme and prepare students for the esame di idoneità per la quinta elementare.
As an IB World School community, we seek a teacher who can deliver an inquiry-led, concept-driven programme, make meaningful cross-curricular links, and contribute to a cohesive and engaging PYP curriculum. Strong English communication skills are essential for collaboration and integration across the programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach Italian language and literature across the PYP, ensuring lessons are engaging, rigorous, and aligned with IB expectations.
2. Prepare students for the esame di idoneità per la quinta elementare, including targeted support and exam readiness.
3. Create inquiry-led units that connect Italian learning to wider PYP transdisciplinary themes.
4. Develop assessments that generate meaningful data to track progress, identify support needs, and inform planning.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment across year groups and within the Primary School.
6. Contribute to a positive, student-centred learning environment that reflects the IB Learner Profile.
7. Participate fully in school life, including meetings, planning sessions, PD, and community events.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Essential
8. Degree in Italian language, literature, or a related field, plus a recognised teaching qualification.
9. Native-level Italian proficiency.
10. Strong English communication skills.
11. Successful experience teaching Italian at Primary level.
12. Ability to use assessment data to monitor progress and guide instruction.
13. Commitment to student-centred learning and high academic expectations.
14. Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
15. Legal right to work in Italy (or an EU passport).
16. Commitment to IB philosophy and willingness to undertake PYP training.
Preferred
17. Experience working in international or multicultural school settings.
18. Prior experience with the IB PYP curriculum.
19. Experience in curriculum design or development.
