Job Description:
The CS Software & Electrical Designer - Packaging will be part of the Packaging Machine Process Excellence & Customer Requests team. The role manages the quotation, software, and hardware development of customer requests.
Key responsibilities:
* Customize existing software and develop new solutions on Siemens Simotion PLCs.
* Perform internal tests for machine automation, including managing non-standard software.
* Use Ladder, Motion Control Chart, and Structured programming languages.
* Create software architecture, defining system interactions.
* Develop machinery upgrades.
* Manage issues during assembly and testing.
* Align periodically on standardization developments.
* Conduct feasibility studies and costing.
* Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Purchasing for upgrade realization.
* Ensure equipment complies with CE and UL regulations.
* Manage electrical bills of materials, diagrams, and documentation, including foreign subsidiaries.
* Participate in technical meetings with customers and partners for customizations and software exchange.
* Commission systems and troubleshoot at customer sites.
* Provide technical support via phone to field technicians and managers.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Automation, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
* At least 7 years of proven experience.
* Experience with Siemens PLC and HMI programming.
* Proficiency in Ladder, Motion Control Chart, and Structured programming languages.
* Fluent in English and Italian; additional languages are a plus.
* Willing to travel.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Goal-oriented with a customer focus.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Experience working in a global, dynamic, and modern environment.
