Posizione: Italdesign is looking for a Team Leader – Chassis & Vehicle Systems to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and drive the development and integration of chassis systems at vehicle level. The role combines strong technical ownership with team coordination and project delivery, while also acting as a key reference at cluster level, contributing to business development activities, RFQs, and the strategic positioning of the chassis domain. The candidate will interface with OEMs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring performance, timing, quality targets, and the growth of technical capabilities within the organization.
Responsibilities
development and integration of chassis and vehicle systems (PWT)
coordination of multiple teams and Team Leaders
technical and managerial reference point for the chassis domain, with a cross‑functional perspective on systems, performance, and processes
definition of technical strategy and capability development
delivery of projects in compliance with quality, cost, and timing targets
key interface between technical teams, project management, and OEM stakeholders
lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team (design, CAE, testing, suppliers)
define priorities, allocate tasks, and monitor workload
support RFQ activities (definition of technical scope and effort estimation)
identify new opportunities (innovation, new chassis services)
define and strengthen the competitive positioning of the cluster
support team development and technical growth with focus on further business development
ensure effective communication within the team and across departments
supervise the development of chassis and PWT systems, including: suspensions, braking systems, steering systems, wheels & tires, air intake, fuel system, exhaust
manage project activities across all development phases (concept to SOP)
ensure compliance with milestones, deliverables, and quality standards
manage input/output flows between departments (simulation, CAD, testing, manufacturing)
coordinate suppliers and co‑engineering activities
support supplier nomination and technical alignment
Key Requirements
5 years in automotive engineering
strong expertise in chassis and PWT systems (suspension, steering, braking, air intake, exhaust, fuel system)
solid understanding of vehicle dynamics and system integration
previous experience as Team Leader or Senior Engineer with coordination responsibilities
experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
