Job Description
The Supplier Quality Engineer is a manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics specialists who plays a central role in assessing supplier quality and ensuring that products received are free of defects. Supplier quality engineers communicate between senior management and suppliers to address and resolve quality issues, providing technical input and guidance on process enhancements and improvements in many cases, supplier quality engineers spend a significant amount of time visiting supplier facilities to assess their practices and procedures and identify areas for improvement. In addition, they conduct rigorous tests of received supplies to identify potential areas of failure or recurring manufacturing defects.
Job Requirements
o Bachelor's degree in engineering field and 3-4 years of equivalent experience
o Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing process and production equipment
o Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to write technical documents
o Knowledge of quality system methodologies
o Ability to interpret engineering drawings
o Strong knowledge of PPAP, MSA, FMEA, SPC and 8D Methods
o Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Minitab, SPSS
o Fluent in Italian and English in written and spoken
o Be able to travel domestically and internationally for supplier visits. In some cases, with a short notice

o Automotive manufacturing experience, working directly for an Automotive OEM or Automotive Supplier
o Having global experience with multinational suppliers
o ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Auditor Certification
o Audit experience; internal and/or external Auditor
o Experience / Certification in VDA 6.3 audit is an asset
o Experience leveraging Design and Process FMEA outputs to develop robust systems
o Experience with development of pressure test equipment
o Experience with coating and plating of metal and inspection methods
o Experience with cleanliness process (VDA 19 is preferred)
o Working experience in Metrology lab: Inspection Method and Equipment
Job Responsibilities
* Ensure that the required delivery quality is achieved by our supply chain.
* Ensure and continuously improve effective nonconformance management of supplier caused non conformances.
* Ensures and controls implementation of prevention oriented SQM related methods and risk management in supplier related processes, projects and products (8D, RCA, APQP, FMEA)
* Qualify and develop suppliers, ensure and continuously improve quality of suppliers and their deliveries.
* Support selection of suppliers with good performance expectation to minimize follow-up costs and effort.
* As part of the Integrated supply chain management, act in cross-functional cooperation with Procurement, Logistics, Engineering and Manufacturing.
* Be familiar with international/national standards (ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, ISO 14001 and 45001), technical documentation of material in scope, quality assurance and purchasing agreements, test and inspection methods
