Based in our office in Carpi (MO), we are looking for a talented Shopify Platform Lead to join our Digital team and play a strategic role in the evolution of our e-commerce ecosystem.
This role represents an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional who is eager to define the platform roadmap and act as a key bridge between business strategy and technical execution.
The Lead Shopify Platform will be responsible for the overall Shopify architecture, development governance, and technical performance of the platform, working closely with business stakeholders and external development partners.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Define and own the Shopify platform roadmap, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution.
* Oversee external development partners by reviewing technical proposals, auditing code quality, and challenging time and cost estimates to ensure budget efficiency.
* Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, managing and prioritizing the development backlog while preventing scope creep.
* Define, control, and optimize data flows, API integrations, and overall architecture between Shopify and internal systems (ERP, PIM, and third‑party tools).
* Lead testing activities (UAT) and deployment processes, ensuring agencies deliver high‑quality, scalable, and performance‑driven code aligned with Shopify best practices.
* Monitor site performance, including Core Web Vitals, and proactively identify technical optimization opportunities.
SKILLS
* 3–5+ years of experience working with Shopify, preferably in a Product Management, Technical Lead, or similar role.
* Solid understanding of Headless commerce architectures, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and third‑party app integrations.
* Proven experience managing external development teams, including negotiating quotes and evaluating the accuracy of technical estimates.
* Experience with version control systems (Git) and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
* Fluency in both English and Italian, written and spoken.
* Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
