The Role
We are recruiting a Java Software Engineer to join a skilled and quality‐driven development team. The role offers the opportunity to work on core backend services, contributing not only to development but also to architectural decisions for a highly scalable platform.
This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and building systems that must perform reliably under heavy load.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain secure, high‐performance RESTful APIs using Java
* Contribute to system architecture and scalability initiatives
* Ensure code quality through testing, peer reviews, and best practices
* Work on complex integrations with external and institutional systems
* Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues
* Collaborate closely with other engineers in an agile environment
Tech Environment
* Backend: Java (Spring / Spring Boot), PHP
* Databases: PostgreSQL
* Infrastructure: AWS
* Development Tools: Git, CI/CD pipelines
* Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, Slack
Requirements
* 3+ years of experience in backend software development
* Strong knowledge of Java and API‐based architectures
* Experience with REST APIs, authentication, and security principles
* Solid understanding of relational databases and performance optimization
* Familiarity with testing methodologies (unit, integration, functional)
* Autonomous, analytical, and quality‐oriented approach
* Knowledge of AWS and Infrastructure as Code
* Good command of English, written and spoken
* 2-3 days xdwybme in the office in Ferrara city
Nice to Have
* Experience with PHP in production systems is a plus
* Background in Fintech, e‐invoicing, or complex system integrations
* Experience working with high‐availability platforms
