Based in the Campari Group Head Office, reporting to the EMEA Quality Manager, the EMEA Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for the day‐to‐day management of suppliers and external manufacturers for all ingredient, packaging and product categories. This involves the pro‐active management of the categories of suppliers, the development and implementation of quality and performance improvement programs, while supporting key initiatives of the activity involving new suppliers and new products.

The EMEA Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for the execution of the organization's Supplier Quality Program, will be part of the Global Quality Suppliers and 3rd Party Manufacturer Committee, and will also act as the business partner of EMEA factories and regional stakeholders, providing support and coordinating with the other supplier quality teams' members as appropriate.

Main Responsibilities

Vendor Management – responsible for the management of an evolving Global Vendor Management strategy to assure a continuous supply of safe, legal and specified materials.

Lead supplier selection and supplier qualification activities, ensuring suppliers / external operations meet Campari Group vision quality and regulatory requirements.

Manage performance and partner with suppliers and external manufacturers to address challenges and execute improvement plans.

Effectively support key business initiatives such as cost reduction projects and new product development, ensuring quality from design and compliance right from the first deliveries.

Vendor Auditing – audit and inspect vendors to assure their full compliance with Campari Group Quality requirements and specifications.

Primary Activities

Ingredient and Packaging Suppliers – provide raw material and packaging expertise which includes pertinent performance and data analyses that ultimately support the proactive category plan as defined by the Supplier Quality Assurance Program.

Work with manufacturing units to resolve issues related to raw materials and vendors.

Lead mitigation of key supply‐chain issues/risks (vendor‐related) to improve and increase supplier reliability and performance.

Conduct supplier qualification activities at existing and prospective suppliers and/or external manufacturers as needed.

Responsible for managing supplier‐related systems which include but are not limited to change control, NC/CAPA, quality agreements, specification development.

Provide guidance and support to project teams and affiliates regarding outsourced activities.

Track and trend key quality indicators / metrics to monitor vendors performance.

Responsible for quality technical assessments, quality agreements, supplier change control, supplier non‐conformance, and CAPA related activities.

Partner with quality, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, distribution, regulatory and vendors to ensure compliance with product requirements, material/component specifications, company procedures, FDA, ISO, GFSI, etc.

Support R&D in production trials of new product releases across suppliers / co‐manufacturing facilities.

Roll out the new Vendors SAQ platform through the EMEA region.

Perform other duties, as required or assigned by the global SAQ team and EMEA Quality Director.

Performance Indicators

Annual goals aligned with the company's Must Win Battles and management review of quality processes (RFT, complaints reduction, defect reduction, cost of non‐quality, audit plan, vendor performance rating, etc.).

Individual goals aligned with implementing and maintaining a quality culture.

Competence / Skill Requirements

Relevant food industry experience required with experience in supplier quality function (3 years minimum) and in raw materials or related areas.

Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

GFSI Lead auditor certification.

Strong working knowledge of food processes, HACCP, risk management and sanitation ideally gained in a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge in food safety raw materials and quality systems programs throughout a range of industry areas.

Experience in managing multi‐country vendors.

Very good team player. Needs to be firm but have diplomacy and ability to influence behaviors.

Good listening skills, auditing skills, analytical skills, good initiative and autonomy.

Fluent in English; other European languages highly appreciated.

Knowledge and Experience

A bachelor's degree in Food Science or equivalent applied science.

Advanced knowledge of the beverage and spirits product category.

Extensive experience in quality assurance preferably with practical experience as food safety expert, R&D or manufacturing function.

Advanced knowledge of HACCP and microbial potential hazards and GFSI standards.

Experience in quality systems and regulated businesses for food & beverages.

Good understanding of customer and consumer‐centric quality management principles.

Knowledge and application of base QA systems, including deviations management, consumer complaints, document control and technical standards within a regulated knowledge of microbiology and analytical labs methods, DoE (Design of Experiments), PDCA, Six‐sigma and/or Lean manufacturing tools.

Proven track record in risk assessment and management, including risk identification tools and communication processes.

Solid experience with manufacturing operations.

Project management skills – ability to lead multiple projects independently in a fast‐paced environment.

Experience in working across multiple functions/projects.

Broad understanding of supply chain models.

Fluent in Italian and English.
