Field Service Engineer (Italy) – AMETEK
Due to continued growth within the global service team, we have an exciting vacancy for a Field Service Engineer in North Italy.
Responsibilities
- Work on a stand‑alone basis, maintain team spirit and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Have full responsibility within a territory to deliver world‑class service to our customers.
- Install, maintain, and use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of roundness and surface‑finish measuring instruments.
- Provide remote call pre‑qualification and attempt remote fixes wherever possible.
- Be the focal point for customer issues and technical enquiries.
- Document and report technical issues where necessary.
- Provide training as required to customers and local distributors.
- Look for opportunities and report wherever possible.
Essential & Desirable Skills
- Good grounding in mechanical/electronic or multidisciplinary engineering.
- Ability to read, interpret and analyse schematics, assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Previous experience in a technical customer‑facing role; recent graduates welcomed.
- Ability to interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, manufacturing, and R&D.;
- Ability to build trust relationships with customers.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Valid and clean driving licence.
- Can work alone while representing AMETEK at customer sites.
- Prepared to work flexible hours when required.
- Prepared to assist colleagues in other regions when required.
Skills & Experience
- High energy level with the ability to take initiative.
- Experience within a matrix management environment.
- Team‑oriented, collaborative, pragmatic, multitasking and flexible.
- Computer fluent, with specific attention to e‑mail and Microsoft Office product skills; CRM and Service tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively.
- Follow set procedures but can identify when change is required.
Requirements
- Mechanical, electrical or electronic service expert.
- Proven experience in high‑demand B2B customer service.
- Based in one of the following regions: Lombardia, Piemonte or Emilia Romagna.
- English: good communication skills, written and spoken.
- Strong customer service attitude with a critical mind‑set.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; self‑motivated and a team player.
