IT Manager – Infrastructure, Security & Systems Architecture

About the Role:
We are seeking an IT Manager to lead the design, implementation and management of Institute Itech's IT infrastructure. The selected candidate will oversee corporate systems, cloud services, cybersecurity, networks, devices, software environments, user access, IT policies and the operational procedures required to support a secure, scalable and professional organization.
This role includes:
- Enterprise IT systems
- Cybersecurity and data protection
- Cloud infrastructure
- Device management (MDM / Intune / Apple Business Manager)
- Internal platforms and system architecture
The IT Manager will ensure that all systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with the needs of a research-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure & Systems
- Design and manage IT infrastructure (cloud, on-premise, hybrid systems)
- Oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and enterprise services
- Manage networks, servers, and internal systems
Cybersecurity
- Define and implement cybersecurity strategies
- Manage endpoint protection, monitoring, and threat detection
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks and best practices
- Implement VPNs, access control systems, and secure communication protocols
Device & Identity Management
- Manage Intune, Apple Business Manager, MDM policies
- Configure and control corporate devices (MacBook, iPhone, etc.)
- Define user access, permissions, and identity structures
Software & Platform Development Support
- Support development teams with infrastructure and deployment
- Oversee internal platforms (including custom systems and terminal environments)
- Ensure integration between backend systems and infrastructure
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection standards
- Define IT policies, access control, and internal security procedures
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system continuity
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT management, infrastructure, or cybersecurity
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft 365 / Entra ID
- Intune / MDM systems
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Knowledge of:
- Network architecture
- Endpoint security
- Identity and access management
- Experience with cybersecurity tools (e.g. EDR, SIEM, VPN, firewalls)
- Strong problem-solving and system design skills
- Fluent English
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in cybersecurity or information security management
- Certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, Security+, CISSP, etc.)
- Experience in research environments or tech startups
- Knowledge of DevOps and infrastructure automation
- Experience managing distributed and international teams

Compensation
Annual Gross Salary: €54,000 – €60,000, depending on experience and expertise.
Additional incentives may be considered based on performance and infrastructure milestones.
