PpSelect how often (in days) to receive an alert: /p h3Italy Electrical Plan Approval Engineer /h3 pCity: Trieste /p pLocation: Trieste, IT, 34135 /p pContract Type: Permanent /p pDivision: Mediterranean and Africa Marine /p pLevel of experience: Intermediate /p pRINA is currently recruiting for a bItaly Electrical Plan Approval Engineer /bto join its office in bTrieste, Italy /bwithin thebMediterranean and Africa Marine /bDivision. /p h3Mission /h3 pThis role focuses on supporting the elaboration of detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met /p pProjects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts. #LI-MC1 /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ul liReview and approve drawings of electrical and automation systems, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security, on ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions. /li liAssist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to electrical and automation systems on ships, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security. /li liProvide support for the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements. /li liProvide support for the resolution of issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards. /li liProvide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, visit sites to take measurements. /li liProvide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data, submitting documentation to officials and other day-to-day duties. /li liPrepare the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.). /li liTake ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks. /li liUnderstand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues. /li liManage simple projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques. /li liAssess minor structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions with minimal supervision. /li liAnswer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel. /li /ul h3Education /h3 pMaster’s Degree in Automation and Control Engineering or Electrical Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul li1 year of experience in the cyber security or electrical/automation engineering field, particularly with maritime electrical systems or in a technical consultancy environment. /li liSolid understanding of cyber security and electrical/automation regulations and standards (e.g., IEC, IMO) for ships and maritime operations, including system design, installation, and maintenance. /li liKnowledge of plan approval processes within the maritime industry, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and international standards. /li liExperience in evaluating plans and drawings for cyber security, marine vessels, reviewing them for safety, compliance, and technical feasibility. /li liFamiliarity with the use of simulation tools and design software to assess systems performance. /li liProficiency in creating detailed reports and documentation, outlining compliance status, technical findings, and recommendations for approval. /li liStrong analytical skills to identify potential electrical system issues or areas of non-compliance during technical reviews. /li liAbility to collaborate with internal teams and clients to facilitate the approval process and address technical concerns. /li liA solid understanding of electrical/automation systems on board ships, such as automation systems, generators, switchboards, propulsion control systems, and battery management. /li /ul ul liTHINK FORWARD -
