In every medium, Vanity Fair harnesses the tensions of modern life.Job DescriptionLocation: Milano, MIThe RoleCondé Nast Italy is looking for an experienced Senior Social Media Manager to lead the social strategy and social posting of Vanity Fair's social channels. As part of a community of global Vanity Social Media Managers and Audience Development Managers, this person will be embedded with the Vanity Fair Italy content team and play a key role in overseeing social storytelling and content distribution, as well as executing daily posting and scheduling on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin and other platforms. With a proven history of growing social audiences and knowledge of analytical tools, this person has a strong journalistic sense, an eye for powerful visuals, strong writing skills, social storytelling skills and understands the Vanity Fair voice. They understand how data can inform a smart editorial and social strategy, and are expert at juggling multiple projects, managing deadlines, distilling social numbers into actionable insights and advocating for strong social content across the organisation. The main goals of this role are to drive traffic to Vanity Fair.it as well as building and fostering strong, engaged off-platform audiences.Primary Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day posting, editing and optimization of content on multiple social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and TwitterSupervise the local Social Media team by providing orientation, advices and best-practices to amplify the social media strategyMaster Vanity Fair Italy's editorial voice and tone, adapting it to the different platformsSelect imagery, video and visual content that engages audiencesPlan, design and implement successful social strategies on cover reveals, tentpoles (such as Festival di Sanremo, Mostra del Cinema di Venezia) and global and local storiesAdapt and realise the Global Vanity Fair social strategy locally, based on local market conditions and cultureWork with the global social storytelling team to ensure the best storytelling for the Vanity Fair Italy accountsBrainstorm new ideas and plan rollout strategies for testing with the audience development teamAdjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on any wins and lossesReport on content performance and present social insights and best practices to various stakeholdersWork with video teams on social storytelling packagesExecute on best-in-class social storytelling, gathering assets from different teamsSeamlessly integrate with Content/Edit and guide teams daily on story positioning (for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, for example)Manage social swaps with internal Conde Nast brands, other Vanity Fair teams, as well as external partnersWork with the commerce team to strategize ways to increase traffic (and therefore revenue) to commerce contentCollaborate with the Sales team for the implementation of sponsorships through social media
Primary Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably for a company in the Media, Creative and Fashion industriesItalian mother tongue with professional working proficiency in EnglishStrong leadership skills and experience in coordinating teamsAbility to identify and select powerful images and videosStrong writing skills for captions, headlines and visual storytellingStrong editorial judgement, with a passion for the topics and the tone of voice proposed by Vanity Fair ItalyCommunity management experienceExcellent organisational skills, focus, and attention to detailAn established ability to synthesise and communicate information quicklyExperience with video editing and asset creationAble to work outside standard working hours (occasional evenings and weekends)Experience in working on social engagement strategies for video and audioGood understanding of social media analytics and how data can inform a successful editorial and social strategyDesired experience in working cross-culturally
