The youth minister for Our Cluster will play an integral role in the parish community. The focus is to foster a community of faith-filled fellowship among the teens of St. Joseph’s, St. Catherine’s, and St. Francis Xavier parishes. This person will direct the youth ministry program for all three parishes, serving students from 8th grade to high school, as well as collaborating with the director of religious education to serve younger students where needed.

Responsibilities
* Prepare weekly events that include time for fellowship, catechesis/faith-based discussion, and prayer
* Coordinate with parents to provide food for the weekly youth group meetings
* Provide additional opportunities for pilgrimage, retreat, service, and fellowship throughout the year
o i.e. camping/hiking retreats; praise & worship Adoration; volunteering at pregnancy centers; joining the state/national March for Life
* Recruit, manage a team of volunteers to assist with ministry events
Communication
* Maintain frequent open correspondence with families to keep them informed and active
* Consistent presence on social media and email promotion/communication to the parish community
* Regular presence at parish events to integrate the youth ministry into parish culture
* Coordinate the graduation Mass on a Sunday by gathering volunteers from the graduates (lector, altar serve, present gifts, etc.)
* Organize occasional annual or bi-annual fundraisers, assigning duties to families and students
* Maintain competent and organized records of student involvement—incoming and outgoing students, confirmation candidates, siblings of active students, etc.
* Music not required but a plus
* Comfortable with public speaking and engaging large crowds of different ages
Administrative
* Maintain accurate records of student participation
* Collaborate with pastor and parish staff to create a calendar for each year’s event date
Qualifications
* Practicing Catholic with an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, a deep love for His Church, and enthusiasm for sharing the faith with young people
