As the Manager Sales you'll be responsible for the achievement of economic goals, and quality and quantity targets in accordance with the set budget. You'll be also in charge of the day-to-day management of the sales team and implementation of the local market plan.

Tasks
Your main tasks include, among others:
Sales Management
1. Development and cultivation of sales channels, customer portfolio and customer relations
2. Steering of inside and outside sales reps/teams
3. Identification and exploitation of growth potential
4. Maximization of earnings and yields
5. Responsibility for ongoing monitoring of market trends and competitors as well as initiation of suitable measures for maintaining and expanding market shares
6. Implementation of communications and advertising measures to promote sales
7. Up-date, evaluation and reporting on weekly sales figures and other statistical data
8. Maintenance of customer databases
9. Local implementation of Lufthansa Cargo sales processes and process adaptations
10. Performance of all other duties assigned or delegated by supervisors
People Management
11. Disciplinary management of the inside and outside sales team
12. Manages, encourages, guides and evaluates the team members
13. Promotes and ensures people’s development
Other
14. Cooperation with local Commercial Manager to develop local market.

Requirements
The ideal Manager Sales should meet the following requirements:
Education and work experience
15. High school diploma/GED required
16. Bachelor's degree desirable
17. 3-5 years previous Aircargo industry experience
18. Knowledge of cargo forwarders and cargo customers in Italy
19. Adequate knowledge of Lufthansa Cargo’s processes and organization. Alternatively, good knowledge of comparable international airline / logistics industry structures
Competencies
20. Excellent written and spoken English and Italian language skills required
21. Knowledge of German language desirable
22. Industry knowledge (airfreight industry, sales) required
23. Advanced IT knowledge, preferably including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
24. Knowledge of all relevant Lufthansa Cargo systems and tools is desirable
