We are currently looking for a Scientific and Medical Affairs Coordinator to join our Corporate Affairs department.
Your Purpose
The Scientific and Medical Affairs Coordinator contributes to the definition and is responsible for the execution of the scientific engagement strategy to strengthen awareness of Smoke-Free Products within the clinical and scientific community. This role plays a critical part in enhancing company’s scientific reputation and supporting broader public affairs strategies. The position involves engagement on the body of evidence regarding Smoke-Free Products with Key Scientific Opinion Leaders, healthcare professionals and scientific societies and driving impactful initiatives through congress participation, digital platforms and scientific publications. Additionally, the Coordinator provides expertise on scientific studies and contributes to regulatory projects. The Coordinator oversees the delivery of activities by potential junior team members and external consultants to ensure successful execution of the scientific plan.
Your ‘Day To Day’
* Coordinate scientific engagement activities to ensure accurate and transparent communication of evidence related to Smoke-Free Products within the scientific and medical community.
* Design, analyse and execute scientific engagement strategies through congresses, workshops, face-to-face meetings and digital platforms in key smoking-related medical areas.
* Plan and implement congress activities aligned with regional and global Corporate Affairs priorities.
* Prepare and review scientific materials and messages tailored for external stakeholders, based on validated data.
* Contribute to the assessment of the scientific and policy environments and bring scientific expertise to the broader Corporate Affairs strategy; collaborate with communication teams to ensure scientific accuracy in media plans and materials.
* Act as liaison for global and local research initiatives, supporting feasibility assessments, stakeholder mapping and implementation of scientific studies in compliance with scientific standards.
* Monitor scientific publications and share insights internally; provide input to global teams on Italian scientific environment; prepare and review medical reports.
* Organize and deliver internal scientific training sessions to promote understanding of scientific evidence and updates on Smoke-Free Products-related topics across the organization.
Who we’re looking for
* University Degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Medicine, Biology, Biotechnologies, Pharmaceutical Technologies). Master’s Degree or Executive Programs in Medical Affairs, Market Access, Public Affairs or Communication are a plus.
* 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, nutrition or life science companies or other scientific organizations, preferably in Medical Affairs, Market Access or product-specific roles. Experience in multinational organizations, clinical trials or observational studies is an advantage.
* Proven experience in external engagement with scientific opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, scientific societies and other scientific stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret and present scientific data clearly through proven medical writing skills.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and demonstrate entrepreneurial mindset in managing projects and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent project management, organizational and problem-solving skills, combined with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
* Excellent command of English and Italian (required).
* Willingness to travel as required by the role.
