Job Overview
This role involves owning the project control activity globally, driving consistent functional specifications, and establishing common global processes for project implementation. It includes activities aimed at understanding and meeting customer expectations, impacting the quality of work of the individual and the team. The position involves executing standard operational and technical tasks, typically guided by instructions and routines, with flexibility to adapt the sequence of tasks based on work situations.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise and develop solutions related to configuration, performance estimation, and economics during the pre-ITO (requisition) process, collaborating with the commercial team. This includes understanding relevant markets and customer value to support bid strategies, analyzing client needs, defining and optimizing products, scope, schedule, industrial schemes, and costs, considering contracts and policies. Document technical specifications and costing elements for contract execution, including customization for specific customer needs.
* Expand knowledge of technical disciplines, especially operating mechanisms for disconnectors, to support policy and strategy execution. Support roles may involve specialized technical knowledge, with ongoing skill development.
* Understand key business drivers and how your work contributes to broader team objectives. Use this understanding to accomplish tasks effectively.
* Make decisions within a defined framework, resolving issues requiring technical judgment. Consult senior team members for issues beyond established procedures.
* Possess good interpersonal skills and potentially lead junior team members. For customer-facing roles, develop strong relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Effectively communicate technical information to others.
Minimum Qualifications
* Outside the USA: Basic experience in Engineering/Technology and Customer Application Engineering, with a knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
* In the USA: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Characteristics
* Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs effectively.
