Overview
This role serves as Amazon’s front line for hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting in mission‑critical data center facilities. You will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot equipment such as generators, UPSs, PDUs, batteries, HVAC units, cooling towers, pumps, and safety systems to ensure continuous 24/7 uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct daily building rounds and monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
* Monitor Building Management and Electrical Power Management Systems.
* Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack‑level events within internal Service Level Agreements.
* Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
* Execute preventive maintenance, root‑cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
* Author technical documentation supporting change management.
* Manage daily work requests, resolve incidents, and execute projects from conception to completion.
* Provide on‑site support for contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in accordance with procedures and local legislation.
* Adapt to shift schedules, up to 12‑hour rotations, and on‑call rotations as required.
* Support multiple sites or locations as needed.
Physical Requirements
* Willingness and ability to work in conditions that may involve lifting up to 39 pounds independently or 40+ pounds in group lifts.
* Maintain balance and perform tasks on ladders, stairs, and while crouching or crawling.
* Walk, use hands, fingers, and arms extensively; stoop, kneel, twist, bend, work above shoulders; grasp, carry, push, and pull objects.
* Operate in environments requiring ear protection.
Essential Requirements
* Ability to travel or commute to data center locations as required (over or under 50 miles).
* Willingness to work at alternate sites during training or until the assigned facility is operational.
* Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status.
Basic Qualifications
* At least 2 years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
* At least 2 years of electrical and mechanical experience.
* Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a data center or other mission‑critical facility (e.g., hospital, military, public safety).
* Associate degree or higher in a related field.
* Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Benefits & Salary
Hourly salary: 33.00–59.00 USD. The compensation package includes sign‑on payments, restricted stock units, health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and other benefits.
