The ESG Private Assets (ESG PA) team is part of the broader ESG function and reports directly to the Head of ESG. The team plays a key role in integrating sustainability considerations into the investment process for Private Assets. The ESG PA team works in close collaboration with the Private Assets investment teams, providing in-depth ESG assessments and strategic support.
The ideal candidate will work on the following activities:
* Support in the structuring of new funds
* Preparation of regulatory and commercial ESG reports at fund level
* Participation in RFP processes alongside investment teams to support third-party investor engagement
* ESG strategy definition in partnership with Portfolio Managers
* Ongoing sustainability monitoring and reporting
* Support to Risk Management in defining ESG Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
* ESG Due Diligence on both direct and indirect investments
* Active engagement on ESG topics with external stakeholders
* Support the head of the function in the definition and regular update of an ESG screening methodology, internal procedures
* Interaction with third party asset managers and investee companies
* Support the team in building ad hoc tools to automatize and improve the collection and elaboration of the ESG Data
* Support the team in monitoring the ESG Market trends, greenwashing practices and benchmarks
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
* Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering (data science or data engineering specialization), or related fields in the Sustainability space
* 5+ years of experience in ESG related roles, ideally in Private Assets, with a credible asset owner or asset manager (preferably with international expertise) - Same experience in Banking sector can be evaluated
* Advanced knowledge of capital markets and Alternative asset classes (e.g., Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure)
* Solid Understanding of sustainable investing initiatives (i.e. UN PRI, TCFD, SASB, CA100+, GFANZ-NET ZERO coalition)
* Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate research findings in both written and spoken format
* Fluent in English. The knowledge of a second foreign language (Italian and/or French) will be considered a plus
* Client focused and pragmatic
* Ability to navigate complex organizations and build multi-stakeholder relationships
* Strong Analytical, IT and quantitative skills
* Advanced MS Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) skills. Programming language (Python, R, Matlab, Java, SQL, PowerBI) are considered a plus
* Good team player
* Comfortable with working under pressure and with tight deadlines
* Curious, flexible and responsive
