In the field of Automation in Instrumentation Engineering, the role is responsible for setting up, developing, and implementing projects related to the revamping of existing plants, optimisation of functionality and troubleshooting of production plants in collaboration with the Maintenance function, implementation of new plants, equipment, production units, and utilities, and supervision of field instrumentation calibration.
Responsibilities
Preparation and/or revision of technical documentation, including technical specifications, electrical schematics developed with suppliers, control panel layouts, I/O lists, FDS, and Unit Type documentation.
Coordination of construction, testing, commissioning, and qualification activities, in collaboration with the Validation function, for plants and equipment in the automation and electrical & instrumentation area.
Follow‑up and monitoring of suppliers’ activities and technical personnel within the automation and electrical & instrumentation scope.
Management, documentation, and maintenance of the automation infrastructure at the hardware level, including network switches and firewalls.
Management, documentation, and maintenance of the automation hardware and software infrastructure, mainly composed of host servers with VMware ESXi virtualization.
Cybersecurity management in alignment with corporate headquarters.
Requirements
High School Degree in a scientific subject (Industrial Technical Institute for Chemistry, Scientific High School) or Bachelor or master’s degree (chemistry or engineering) is a plus.
In‑depth knowledge and hands‑on experience with PLC automation systems, SCADA iFix, and DCS PCS7.
Solid understanding of system infrastructures and architectures, including Siemens Simatic, Siemens Step 7, Siemens PCS7, and TIA Portal.
Knowledge of the ATEX Directive and issues related to explosive‑risk areas.
Knowledge of the Machinery Directive and related compliance requirements.
English proficiency sufficient to ensure proper understanding of technical documentation.
Strong IT fundamentals with a focus on networks, switches, and firewalls (including proven hands‑on or hobby‑level experience).
Knowledge of hardware components related to industrial automation systems.
Knowledge of virtualised IT environments is considered a plus, mainly VMware.
Basic knowledge of OT Cybersecurity is considered a plus.
