Overview
As IS Operation Manager, you will lead SAP BASIS operations across ECC/BW/GRC and S/4HANA in AIX/Linux with DB2, steering global teams to ensure high availability and performance. You’ll drive upgrades, migrations, security, and integrations while partnering with SAP stakeholders to enable ABB’s digital landscape. This role combines hands‑on SAP expertise with leadership to deliver reliable, scalable IT services. You’ll help optimize the landscape including cloud migrations and DR planning, shaping ABB’s information systems.
Responsibilities
* Administer and maintain SAP ECC, BW, GRC, and S/4HANA on AIX/Linux.
* Manage end‑to‑end DB2 database operations including tuning, backups, and recovery.
* Provide operational leadership of the SAP BASIS team and coordinate with global stakeholders.
* Lead SAP projects: upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning.
* Monitor performance, optimize systems, and plan capacity.
* Administer SAP security, users, authorizations, and Transport Management System (TMS).
* Oversee SAP integrations (interfaces, RFC, web services) and cloud migration initiatives.
* Develop disaster recovery plans and document landscape optimization efforts.
* Travel within Italy and abroad as needed.
Qualifications
* 5‑7+ years of SAP BASIS experience.
* Strong SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA (RISE and on‑premise) know‑how.
* DB2 database expertise; SAP HANA administration skills.
* Proficiency in AIX and Linux; experience with NetWeaver, upgrades, migrations.
* Knowledge of SAP security, Solution Manager, integrations, and modern technologies (Fiori, BTP, Cloud Connector).
* Experience leading SAP BASIS teams and coordinating with global stakeholders.
* Track record delivering complex SAP projects end‑to‑end and managing distributed teams.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; vendor management.
* Fluent English (written and spoken).
* Willingness for occasional travel.
