They are seeking to strengthen their Finance department at their largest European production site in Romania, which is experiencing rapid growth. The Finance & Accounting Manager will report directly to the Group Accounting Director and, in a dotted line, to the Site General Manager in Romania. The role involves managing internal finance functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Industrial Controlling, Manufacturing Performance Indicators, and Financial Reporting and planning. This position will collaborate closely with Operations and the Corporate Team to improve processes and procedures. Main tasks and responsibilities Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Oversee the finance department's operations, setting goals and objectives. Manage Accounts Receivables and Payables, including aging analysis. Ensure accurate and timely financial reports for Corporate Headquarters, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. Perform month-end activities such as reconciliations and journal entries. Coordinate with the finance team to meet deadlines. Analyze discrepancies and suggest resolutions. Respond to management inquiries promptly. Guide other accountants when needed. Assist in budgeting and expense management. Support auditing activities by providing necessary documentation. Maintain and analyze the general ledger. Manage cost accounting systems. Oversee inventory management and variance analysis. Coordinate with external tax, legal, and audit agencies to ensure compliance. Requirements Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. Proven experience in financial and controlling management within manufacturing. Experience as an auditor is a plus. Knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing variance calculations. At least 5 years' experience with integrated accounting systems. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and queries. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and presentation skills. Creative and critical thinking abilities. Familiarity with IFRS for external audits in Romania and Italy. The role is based in Emilia (Bologna area), with frequent travel (at least twice a month) to Romania. Fluent English is required.
