Main responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, tracking shipments, creating and maintaining adequate inventory levels and liaising with inventory teams and manufacturing to minimize stock out and supply chain risks. The Buyer I will work closely with other departments to support the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand and production schedule.Duties1.Process purchase orders and follow up deliveries2.Source for new potential suppliers and negotiate rates3.Monitor inventories and ensure they are kept at appropriate levels4.Maintain and update supplier vendor list5.Work towards department KPI's6.Work closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, R&D, Regulatory as required7.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders8.Trouble shot all issues that may occur at any stage of the procurement process9.Contract managementEducation DegreeBachelor's Degree in EconomicsRequired Experience & CompetenciesProactivity, critical thinking, problem solving skillsGood IT skills (Microsoft Office365 suite), Excel skills such as Pivot Tables, Power Query are a plus.Knowledge of Oracle would be a plusGood English written and spoken2 year working experience, preferably in Procurement, Supply Chain or OperationsThis position requires knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties involved, including regular communications outside the province of Quebec, training, email communications, and frequent meetings and interactions with English- only employees.
