We are seeking an experienced Patent Engineer, contributing to new business initiatives and licensing programs.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in electronics, telecommunications or audio/video coding with solid experience in patent analysis and prosecution, preferably complemented by qualification as a European or Italian Patent Attorney.
Working at the intersection of technology, intellectual property, and business, you will collaborate closely with technical experts, licensing professionals, and legal teams to drive value from patent assets and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct in-depth analysis of patent portfolios, including due diligence activities, with a focus on standardized technologies (e.g., 3GPP standards such as 4G/5G, IEEE 802.11, video coding standards).
* Prepare and critically assess Evidence of Use (EoU) and claim charts to support licensing and enforcement activities.
* Perform patent and technology landscape studies using major patent databases and analytical tools.
* Support patent licensing and business development initiatives, including negotiations, litigation support, and patent acquisitions.
* Contribute to the design and development of conformance and infringement testing methodologies.
* Provide support in patent prosecution activities for internally developed or licensed portfolios, in coordination with external counsel.
Required Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Proven experience in patent analysis, licensing, or related IP activities.
* Strong technical background in telecommunications, electronics, or related domains.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken).
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Qualification as a European or Italian Patent Attorney (or in the process of qualification).
* PhD in a relevant field, particularly in telecommunications or communication standards.
* Deep knowledge of telecommunications standards and protocols, especially 3GPP (4G/5G), IEEE 802.11, and/or video coding standards.
* Experience in patent licensing, enforcement, or litigation support in an international environment.

* Strong networking capabilities, particularly in the context of standardization meetings and industry forums.

Compensation & Work Model:
* Salary Range: 60.000 - 90.000
* Flexible hybrid work on a monthly basis
* Relocation support for candidates moving to Italy
