Quality Engineer (BESS)The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all BESS components, systems, and installations comply with internal and external quality requirements.
The role includes developing quality plans, conducting inspections, supporting supplier quality, leading root cause analysis, and facilitating quality meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement project-specific Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections for batteries, PCS, and enclosures.
Perform supplier audits, manage NCRs, and oversee CAPA implementation.
Hold regular quality meetings with cross-functional attendance to address key focus topics, resource planning, and quality decisions.
Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities to verify compliance with design and performance requirements.
Ensure adherence to ISO ****, UL ****, IEC *****, IEEE ****, and NFPA 855 standards.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Maintain quality documentation and ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or equivalent experience).
3–7 years of experience in quality assurance or engineering roles in BESS, renewable energy, or electrical manufacturing.
Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery technology, power electronics, and energy storage systems.
Proficient in quality tools (FMEA, SPC, 8D, Root Cause Analysis) and systems (APQP, PPAP, CAPA).
ASQ CQE, Six Sigma, or ISO **** Auditor certification preferred.
