Job Title: Classroom Aide - Extended Care (After School Hours)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Aide to support our extended care program after school hours. The ideal candidate will assist in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, actively supervising and interacting with their activities, and social interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and engage with the children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
2. Interact and actively supervise children students in their activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
3. Plan and implement age-appropriate recreational and educational activities.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction and teamwork.
5. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns.
6. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
7. High school student (Junior or Senior) - or - High School diploma or GED.
8. State mandated 45-hour coursework completion or ability to complete within established timeframes.
9. Experience in a childcare or educational setting preferred.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
12. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
13. Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices.
14. First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Physical/Mental Demands
23. Lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.
24. Kneels, stoops, bends, reaches and sits on floor to attend to children’s needs
25. Sitting, for working at keyboard and desk, standing, driving for home and site visits
26. Moves quickly in response to active children in need of redirection to protect their and others safety
27. Uses manual dexterity, reaches with hands and arms, stretches, and talks or hears
28. Responds both physically and mentally to emergency or crisis situations
Environmental Conditions
29. Variability in temperature, environment and noise
30. Potential sensory response associated with toileting and/or children who are ill
31. Contact with children who are ill and/or possibly contagious
32. Contact with chemicals to clean and sanitize equipment and facility
