What you will do
Are you interested in purchasing and supplier management? Do you want to develop your skills in Procurement while working in an international company? We are looking for a Direct Buyer Intern to join our Purchasing team and support key activities that ensure an efficient and reliable production process. In this role, you will support daily purchasing operations, interact with suppliers, and help maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data. You will gain hands-on experience in order management, supplier performance monitoring, and purchasing analytics discovering how Procurement contributes to business continuity every day.
To support these objectives, you will take part in a range of hands‑on procurement tasks, such as:
* Orders management for a determined packaging assortment
* Preparation and verification with suppliers of the list of open orders, collaboration and communication with the internal customers in order to avoid shortages.
* Ensure the updating of the price lists of the delegated direct suppliers and manage the electronic archiving process in compliance with Corporate procedures
* Maintenance of all relevant master data (including packaging cockpit)
* Support in phase in /phase out processes in case of change of packaging codes
* Order management of trial materials in compliance with the Company procedures
* Issue return orders to suppliers for the complained raw materials
* Support in the management and calculation of the Grüner Punkt (German packaging tax)
* Proceed to the customs clearance of the returned material
* Entering new delegated direct suppliers into the system, following the standard group process
* Support for the development and analysis/evaluation of departmental indicators
* Support in function projects
* Support stock and order management (mainly stationery and work clothes)
* Support requests for bids from suppliers for consumables and non-catalogued service
What you will need
* Course of study in economics or business administration
* Knowledge of OFFICE (Excel, Word, Power Point), SAP optional
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret data
* Problem solving
* Good knowledge of English - spoken and written (B1)
* Excellent Italian (C2)
* Residence/Domicile: province of Varese or Como
