PpHead of the Materials, Processes, Environments and Contamination Control Section for: System, Satellite, Structures, Payload, Propulsion and Equipment /p pShe/ He will report directly to the Head of Quality Department /p h3Responsibilities /h3 pThe main tasks and responsibilities are included in the following perimeter: /p ul liDefine the company Materials, Processes and Contamination policy for the Design, Devolopment, Evaluation and Qualification of Space hardware able to respond to harmful factors in the space environment; /li liSupervision of materials and processes, cleanliness and contamination, characterization analysis, related to materials in the space environment; /li liOverview of the development of novel materials with enhanced/enabling performances and technical support to Life Cycle Assessments; /li liDefine and approve the physical characteristics that need to be characterized; /li liReview, Authorize and Standardize the lists of approved materials together with details of their precise physical and chemical properties, to be made available to mission teams; /li liManage and address Failure Analysis investigations, Corrective actions and Lesson Learnt in accordance with state of the art of new methodology and techniques; /li liOverview, on the Processes side, preferred manufacturing and assembly methods are established based on continual research and testing to minimise the chance of material or component failure and process variability; /li liProvides functional support to all projects and general studies and carries out technological review and approval of materials and associated manufacturing processes in all the different phases; /li liSupport the selection of materials, mechanical parts and processes for space programmes in the framework of the Materials and Processes Review Boards; /li liIdentify critical development problems and assisting in their resolution; /li liContribute to the definition of technology development requirements and work plans for the Company technology programmes; /li liDefine, initiate and manage RD activities covering both long- and short-term needs; /li liFoster new application areas for multidisciplinary activities, placing emphasis on innovative concepts, cutting-edge technologies and system architectures; /li liSupport tests, qualifications and failure investigations by coordinating relevant laboratory test activities and, in particular, modelling of materials performance relating to applied processes and stimuli and drafting of relevant reports; /li liLiase and collaborate with other engineering disciplines; /li liDevelop test and modelling methodologies for the evaluation of materials and for verifying processes against application requirements; /li liMonitor applicable scientific and technological trends and maintaining a state-of-the-art expertise; /li liDisseminate the results of the activities performed and actively contributing to the transfer of knowledge across the Company. /li /ul h3Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience /h3 ul liMaster's Degree in Materials engineering, Science or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD. /li liSeveral years of work experience in the domain of materials and processes, preferably covering aerospace hardware and RD /li liExperience with Space Quality and Engineering Standards /li liGood knowledge of materials and processes used for space applications, in particular their selection and qualification for compatibility with the space environment /li liGood knowledge of the cleanliness and contamination control domain /li liExperience in supporting Agencies programmes/projects and knowledge of their technical and programmatic requirements in relevant technical domains /li liKnowledge of the industrial landscape and ability to define technology development roadmaps identifying future trends in technology requirements /li liExperience in driving RD activities, as well as knowledge of Istitutional technology programmes /li liExperience in space procurement processes and contract management as well as applied negotiation skills /li liSupporting the Product Assurance and Safety Managers in the qualification and approval of all relevant materials, mechanical parts and associated manufacturing processes, including cleanliness and contamination control aspects, for all space projects and programmes; /li li• Supporting the Mechanical, Thermal and Propulsion Architects and the System Engineers in the selection, design and characterisation of all relevant materials and processes; /li liExperience in the management and monitoring of industrial activities, including participation in reviews /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
