About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team within IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System). This role will support the Client and collaborate with the FSP development team to deliver high-quality, reliable software applications through advanced testing practices.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automation frameworks, SQL, and Java while also excelling in manual testing, performance testing, and accessibility testing. This is a critical role in ensuring the smooth implementation of statewide education data applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements, design documents, and technical documentation to develop detailed test cases.
- Create, execute, and maintain automated functional and regression test cases using Selenium and TestNG.
- Conduct manual testing and data validation for web-based applications and reports (HTML, PDF, Excel).
- Perform SQL queries to validate and manipulate test data.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and customers to clarify functionality and ensure effective test coverage.
- Execute performance testing with tools such as JMeter or WAPT Pro.
- Perform accessibility testing to ensure compliance standards.
- Report and document defects, test execution results, and testing summaries in detail.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years testing complex web applications.
- 7+ years testing across all phases of the SDLC.
- 7+ years automation testing with Selenium and TestNG.
- 5+ years advanced SQL/database testing experience.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Java programming.
- 2+ years working with Apache POI and Apache PDFBox.
- 2+ years using WAPT Pro, JMeter, or other performance testing tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience parsing WebTables to verify results.
- Prior experience with Zephyr Scale.
- Previous experience with JIRA for defect tracking and project management.
Work Hours & Location
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Central Time), excluding state holidays.
- Location: 100% Remote – Candidates must be based within the United States.
