The position is based in Italy and is open to our offices in Pistoia, Roma, Genova and Bologna.
Job Purpose
Manage the technical contractual scope of the project and functionally lead the project engineering team.
Responsibilities

* Be accountable for the customer acceptance of the project solution, directly interfacing the customer technical reference for the project.
* Manage the project technical risks and the corresponding mitigation plan.
* In case of contractual scope evolution, raise variation orders and manage the approval with the Change Control Board, using the appropriate procedures.
* Validate the technical design choices with peers (e.g., V&V Manager), the AE Technical Advisor and the Product Development (R&D) Direction.
* Identify applicable regulations in the customer country and ensure they are taken into account in project solution design.
* Define and manage the external and internal interfaces between different sub‑systems, subcontractors and the Products and R&D team.
* Conduct on‑site surveys and produce constraints for the installation of equipment, including delivering the scheme plan that summarizes the signalling solution and the associated layout of equipment along the track.
* Customise and parameterise the generic solution to meet Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance (QCDP) commitments: build and analyse the project requirements database, allocate requirements to the R&D, Project Engineering and Industrialisation teams.
* Chair the Project Change Control Board (CCB) to validate variations.
* Organise configuration management and transverse technical meetings: CCB, configuration review, baseline definition.
* Be responsible for project design and application engineering activities, engineering tasks, quality, costs of engineering and delivery time.
* Consolidate and provide BoM/BoQ.
* Allocate tasks across the Project Engineering team and ensure regular follow‑up of engineering activities.
* Deploy applicable engineering processes, methods and tools on the project.
* Ensure the Project Delivery Sheet is accurate and verify that the relevant Project Safety Case is delivered on time.
* Provide all technical documents to the project core team members for industrialisation, sourcing, installation, test and commissioning.
* Support the resolution of technical issues identified by core team members.
* Coordinate actions during project warranty to support the resolution of pending technical issues following the Project Warranty requirements.
* Support the Project Quality Manager in consolidating the REX of the Project and the Reliability Growth after commercial service.
* Support the AE Technical Advisor / AE Engineering Department Head in defining and performing knowledge capitalisation.
Qualifications
*
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electronic, electric, computer science, telecommunication) or equivalent experience.
* IT skills: MS Office suite, AutoCAD, MS Project, Windows OS as a user.
* Good experience in project execution and engineering team management.
* Strong knowledge in engineering design methods and tools (system design and/or system modelling, requirements management, project planning, BoM/BoQ management).
* Decision‑making ability and troubleshooting skills.
* Language skills: Italian (mother tongue), English (B2 or equivalent); additional languages such as French, Spanish, German are an advantage.
