The Automotive Mechanic II will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members. This night shift position is located in Romeo, MI.\nResponsibilities
\n
Maintaining vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections Repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replacing parts and components Reading, interpreting, and following service procedures
\n
Maintaining vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs Participating in daily shop organization and clean–ups

Qualifications
\n
High school diploma or equivalent\nMinimum of 4 years of work experience as an automotive mechanic\nKnowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment\nGood attention to detail and organizational skills\nAble to work independently and as part of a team\nYour own tools with a rolling toolbox and be able to work overtime and weekends\nAbility to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Certificate in Automotive Technology or related field\nNational Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)\nState Mechanic Certification(s)\nValid driver’s license\nKnowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers\nAbility to support out of state trips as needed
