Job Purpose
The Software Designer / Software Engineer develops safety‑critical software for automated traffic control systems. The role requires analyzing requirements, designing solutions, testing, deploying, and maintaining high‑quality software throughout the entire development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
* Improve system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and develop standard operating procedures.
* Follow CENELEC prescriptions for safety system development (SIL 4) per EN 50126 – 50128 standards.
* Enhance applications by identifying improvement opportunities, designing, and implementing systems.
* Maintain and improve existing codebases and conduct peer‑review code changes.
* Liaise with colleagues to implement technical designs.
* Investigate and adopt new technologies where relevant.
* Write reports and present findings to managers and colleagues.
Qualifications
* Consistent professional experience in a similar role within multinational industrial contexts (transportation, railway, signalling).
* Experience with high‑level programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and others.
* A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent related fields.
* A passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions.
* Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
* Strong analytical and reasoning skills with an ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging large codebases.
* Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
* Good English knowledge (B2) is required.
