Job Overview
As a field-based role available across Europe, the Regional Surgical Manager EMEA is responsible for leading the Surgical Account Manager (SAM) and Clinical Consultants outside of DACH. The RSM leads and executes key business initiatives, implements resources for developing and growing ABMD’s business, and oversees both strategic and tactical operations to ensure business outcomes align with patient care and outcomes. The manager supports the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and strategies and translates these to the surgical sales team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a strategic business plan aligned with corporate objectives to empower the regional O DACH team to exceed revenue plans and patient support.
* Conduct AARs and plan of action with local regional surgical team.
* Identify opportunities, generate market awareness, and drive adoption of ABMD surgical product portfolio.
* Support opening new accounts and build KOL network.
* Ensure effectiveness of the Sales/Clinical team through 1:1 travel and on-site coaching.
* Coordinate and manage joint activities with local Regional Manager, Physician Program team, Marketing & Training Department, and local Cardiological Franchise Teams.
* Ensure staff and clients competence through development, retention, and performance management of the Sales/Clinical Team.
* Drive continuous development of the team’s personal and professional skills.
* Grow and establish peer‑to‑peer surgical networks to share best practices and develop educational programs.
* Coordinate surgical campaigns with the EU/US Marketing Teams, PPD team, Medical Office, and local teams.
* Represent the company at surgical conferences across the EMEA region.
* Provide case support when team members are unavailable.
* Travel regularly up to 80%.
* Hold regular meetings with field team and clients.
Qualifications / Requirements
* College degree required, preferably in Business Administration or a related field.
* Proven and experienced sales professional with strong medical device background.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in medical device sales, ideally in Cardiac Surgery/Cardiology (Mechanical Circulatory Support) or related therapeutic areas.
* Prior leadership experience managing sales teams.
* Strong combination of commercial expertise and medical understanding.
* Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with all laws and regulations required for the medical device industry.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in fluent English; additional languages highly valued.
