We are looking for a Field Service Engineer specialized in Industrial Cybersecurity to be hired with a permanent contract in Milan within the Service Execution team in Italy.

Your Challenge
As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) playing a key role in securing automation systems within the factory automation domain your main focus will be on on‑site cybersecurity activities at customer locations, supporting the protection of machines, production lines, and industrial networks against cyber threats.
You will work closely with customers, OEMs, and internal teams to assess, implement, and maintain industrial cybersecurity measures, ensuring system integrity, availability, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g. IEC 62443).
Your main activities will be:

Execution of on‑site cybersecurity service activities at OEMs and end customers
Assessment of industrial plants, machines, and networks to identify cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities
Implementation of industrial cybersecurity measures, including system hardening, network segmentation and secure communication; firewall and access control configuration, patch and vulnerability management
Support in the execution of cybersecurity assessments and preparation of related technical documentation
Asset identification and analysis of automation components (PLCs, HMIs, drives, networks)
Implementation and support of secure remote access solutions
Support during commissioning and retrofit projects with a focus on secure system integration
Collaboration with engineering and project teams to integrate security by design in automation solutions
Contribution to incident response and troubleshooting related to cybersecurity issues in industrial environments
Support to internal teams (hotline, back‑office) on cybersecurity topics
Preparation of technical reports, risk assessments, and customer documentation in line with Siemens standards

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience
Experience (or strong motivation to grow) in Industrial cybersecurity and Automation systems
Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity concepts (e.g. defence in depth, risk assessment, system hardening) and network fundamentals (IP, routing, firewalls, VPN)
Basic understanding of relevant standards (e.g. IEC 62443) as a plus
Experience with tools for asset discovery, vulnerability scanning, or monitoring as a plus
Teamwork, managing priorities, communication and customer orientation skills
Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset
Willingness to travel for on‑site activities (national and potentially international)
Passion to never‑stop growing
Respect and appreciation of each person's uniqueness, willingness to co‑create and share knowledge
Italian and English proficiency
Eligibility to work in Italy
