Responsibilities
Lead the manufacturing unit's operational excellence to achieve on-time, safe, cost-efficient and high-quality production.
Develop and execute the site's strategic plans in alignment with the NTO strategy, ensuring profitability, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
Spearhead transformation and change initiatives across the organization, driving continuous improvement and digital innovation.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing workforce that embodies Novartis's culture of curiosity, inspiration, and leadership.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable seamless collaboration between site operations and corporate functions.
Oversee the entire Manufacturing Functions (MF) organization, ensuring equipment, infrastructure, and facilities meet regulatory, GMP, and HSE standards and are continuously upgraded.
Maintain scientific oversight of manufacturing processes, technical change and product portfolio management across units.
Serve as the single point of contact for site leadership and engineering teams, coordinating with operational centers and site development organizations.
Develop medium- and long-term strategic initiatives that align with regional strategy and drive site profitability.
Ensure comprehensive compliance with GMP, HSE, and Novartis's quality and safety policies, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead quality and HSE investigations, risk assessments, and moment-of-danger reporting timely and accurately.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing and technical operations.
Expertise in process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and digital transformation.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
Financial acumen with experience in budget planning, cost control, and profitability analysis.
Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and technology integration.
Effective communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
Work Experience
Proven track record in leading large manufacturing teams.
Experience with complex product portfolio management.
Experience negotiating with suppliers and within corporate functions.
Track record of executing process improvements and technology adoption.
Financial stewardship of a manufacturing budget.
