Our client, a leading global player in the Food Manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Manager to oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across multiple production sites. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction, while driving quality standards and certifications across the locations. This is a key leadership position with a focus on building a strong safety culture, optimizing processes, and supporting the growth of the quality department during its expansion phase. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership : Manage the QA and QC teams at both sites, ensuring team alignment with global standards and quality targets. Lead and coach the development of younger teams to build a strong safety and quality culture. Quality Control & Operational Excellence : Ensure Right First Time production by overseeing materials, product quality, hygiene, food safety, and people safety, as well as improving efficiency, assets utilization, and reducing waste. Lead the implementation of continuous improvement practices and maintain a focus on quality, cost, and operational excellence across both sites. Expansion & Development : Support the growth of the site by developing its quality department, ensuring it meets industry standards and customer requirements. Implement the necessary quality controls to support production expansion and new certifications (e.g., BRC, IFS). Customer and Supplier Relations : Oversee customer complaints, manage quality control processes, and act as the primary point of contact for any quality-related issues. Drive improvements in complaint handling processes and ensure that both sites meet regulatory and certification standards. Global Quality Alignment : Collaborate with global teams to align on quality and audit systems. Ensure consistency and effectiveness of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ensure that BRC and IFS certifications are maintained. Safety & Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, Food Defense, and other safety systems (e.g., ISO 9001, FSSC, Kosher, Halal). Manage risk assessments, safety culture initiatives, and stay ahead of food legislation changes. Sustainability & Continuous Improvement : Promote a sustainability policy aligned with European and local directives. Drive sustainable cost-saving and efficiency projects across both sites. Ideal Profile Experience : Minimum of 5 years in QA/QC roles ideally within the food industry. Expertise : In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, Food Safety systems (BRC, IFS, HACCP, ISO 9001, FSSC), and food law & legislation (Kosher, Halal, UTZ, RSPO). Leadership : Strong experience in managing cross-site operations and leading diverse teams. Skills : Hands-on approach to quality management and continuous improvement. Excellent coaching and leadership skills, particularly for building and guiding less experienced teams. Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders locally and globally.
