About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Bologna.
In this role, you will lead complex, multi‐supplier projects for industrial plants and fully integrated automatic production/packaging lines. You will be responsible for orchestrating third‐party suppliers and internal functions to successfully deliver scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
This position requires autonomy in managing multi‐supplier planning and scope‐of‐supply, strong cross‐functional coordination, and close collaboration with the Technical Project Leader to ensure seamless technical integration.
Main Responsibilities
Build and steer the integrated master plan, consolidating supplier schedules into the company's internal schedule; maintain critical path, float, and supplier interface.
Drive cross‐functional alignment and gate/milestone readiness across design, procurement, manufacturing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning, following established project governance.
Define, baseline, and control the scope of supply for all third‐party systems and sub‐systems; manage RFQs, contracts, and change orders jointly with Purchasing/Supply Chain.
Develop and maintain an integrated schedule (MSP or equivalent); run weekly supplier syncs; manage risks and mitigation plans; upscale blockers and implement recovery plan.
Track cost actuals vs baseline; lead estimate‐to‐complete (ETC) and estimate‐at‐completion (EAC) updates; ensure margin protection and timely variance analysis; prepare monthly project financials for leadership.
Partner with the Technical Project Leader to validate technical deliverables, interface matrices, and acceptance criteria; ensure compliance through FAT/SAT and punch list closure.
Select, onboard, and develop suppliers; monitor OTD/OTQ; lead performance reviews; enforce contractual obligations; coordinate engineering change orders (ECOs) and configuration control.
Serve as the single point of contact for project execution with internal leadership and external customers; ensure transparent communications, decision logs, and gate approval.
Oversee pre‐FAT readiness, FAT execution at supplier and in‐house, SAT on customer site, and final handover; manage punch list closure and lessons learned.
When project scope includes contributions from Coesia Group companies acting as external suppliers, coordinate their schedules, interfaces, and deliverables alongside third‐party vendor; ensure alignment to internal PM policy, inter‐company governance, and consolidated reporting.
What You Need to Be Successful
Proven and solid experience of at least 5 years in Project Management in a structured and matrix organization.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation) or equivalent. Advanced certification (PMP/Prince2/IPMA) is a plus.
Experience in automatic machines viewed as integrated systems or from industrial plant engineering (systems integration, multi‐technology lines) is a plus.
Fluency in English.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Microsoft Project).
Negotiation skills and ability to manage conflict.
