Responsibilities
Support the monitoring and updating of needs assessment and mapping of local services and initiatives for the socio-economic inclusion of migrants living in Messina.
Assist the supervisor in preparing and logistically organizing activities related to the design and implementation of a specialized training programme for public and private operators on access to social services, health services, labour markets and protection against exploitation.
Prepare and maintain logistical arrangements for information session activities and provide on-site logistical and administrative support during the sessions in close coordination with project partners.
Support the monitoring and updating of stakeholder engagement activities aimed at strengthening local migration governance and provide administrative support for the relaunch of the Territorial Council for Immigration and the organization of dedicated Technical Tables.
Assist the Project Manager with preparing reporting documentation related to the project, including collating inputs, verifying supporting documents and maintaining organized project files.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
Experience supporting field activities for migrants' integration.
Experience supporting capacity-building of institutional actors.
Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs and/or EU agencies is an asset.
Skills
Knowledge of the Italian regulations and policies related to migrants' reception and integration.
Knowledge of the role and functioning of the Prefectures within migration governance frameworks in Italy.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in Italian and English (oral and written) is required.
Working knowledge of French is desirable.
