We’re looking for a QA & Validation Engineer – Power Systems to ensure that CPPC Tiers releases are thoroughly validated, reproducible, and ready for certification before General Availability. In this role, you’ll be responsible for proving that the system behaves correctly – not just in theory, but under realistic grid and failure conditions.
This position is for someone who treats testing as an engineering discipline. You’ll work closely with control, software, and power systems engineers to define meaningful test coverage, execute dynamic validation, and produce the evidence required for grid‑code compliance and customer acceptance.
This role is fully remote.
What You Will Do
* Define functional, integration and dynamic test plans for CPPC Tiers releases
* Execute HIL and grid‑simulation tests to validate control behavior under realistic scenarios
* Perform structured regression testing across software and control releases
* Generate clear auditable validation, supporting grid‑code compliance
* Support FAT, SAT, and acceptance criteria definition with customers, EPCs, and grid operators
* Identify gaps, edge cases, and regressions early and drive them to resolution
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of validation processes and test methodologies
Positions are open both to professionals working as contractors and to candidates interested in on‑site employee roles, depending on the profile, experience, and project needs.
We welcome applications from local candidates, available to work on‑site, as well as from professionals based worldwide, in line with the applicable contractual model.
Qualifications
* You are systematic, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working with complex technical systems
* 5+ years of experience testing industrial control systems or power systems software
* Working knowledge of power system dynamics and grid behavior
* Hands‑on experience with HIL setups and simulation tools at an operational level
* Strong documentation skills and discipline – you know how to produce certifiable evidence
* Able to work with globally distributed teams, with at least a 4‑hour overlap with CET/CEST
* Eligible to obtain a visa and able to travel to Italy within three months of hiring
