We are looking for a Senior System Engineer for one of our most prestigious clients, an international research center based in Italy.\n\nGENERIC SKILLS (NECESSARY) \nInformation Systems setup, configuration, and optimization (LINUX server operating system RHEL distribution and/or Windows server)\nEnd Users support, assistance on standard environment: installation and configuration of auxiliary tools and packages\nMaintain automated back-up systems and ensure continuity and coordination of AI tools across teams.\nSPECIFIC SKILLS (DESIRABLE)\nExperience with content management systems (preferably Drupal), APIs, and workflow automation tools.\nDatabase management systems (e.g. PostgreSQL, DuckDB, MariaDB), OR DevOps (Openshift) developers support\nweb servers supporting Apache, Nginx and Tomcat technologies\nKnowledge of OLTP/OLAP architectures (knowledge of VertiPaq architecture is an asset).\nContainers infrastructure (Docker): building custom containers tailored on scientific user needs, support existing applications migration to containers, building and update standard base Docker images\nSetup and deployment of ad hoc applications stacks like: Django / Geoserver / Geonode\nIT automation infrastructure (AWX, Ansible)\nPOSSIBLE ADDITIONAL ASSETS\nHands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and Document AI for intelligent document processing.\nKnowledge of semantic search, taxonomies, ontologies, metadata structures, and tagging systems.\nStrong programming skills in Python and SQL.\nExperience with object-relational mapping and basic understanding of machine learning techniques.\n\nLocation: Ispra (VA), with possibility of smart-working \nType: Full-time contract\nRAL range: 40.000 – 50.000 k €
