Product Developer, Knitwear JOB PURPOSE
The Product Developer specialised in Knitwear will shape the development of collections from concept through to pre-production at Burberry. This role sits at the meeting point of creativity and technical craft, partnering closely with Design to bring ideas to life while balancing quality, cost and timeline. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring each piece reflects the integrity and innovation of Burberry. With a focus on collaboration and expertise, you will help deliver exceptional product experiences for our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Partner with Design to translate creative vision into technically feasible, high-quality knitwear products.
* Manage the end-to-end product development process, ensuring prototypes and samples meet cost, quality and timeline expectations.
* Own and drive the critical path, identifying risks early and implementing solutions to maintain momentum.
* Build and manage strong relationships with vendors and mills across regions to support delivery and innovation.
* Provide technical expertise on knit construction, yarns and materials to support product development decisions.
* Ensure accurate system updates and clear cross-functional communication to enable smooth production and minimise risk.
PERSONAL PROFILE
* Solid experience in apparel product development, with a focus on knitwear and strong technical understanding.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with creative and technical teams to achieve shared goals.
* Strong commercial awareness, balancing design intent with cost and margin considerations.
* Confident communicator with experience managing and influencing internal and external partners.
* Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across complex timelines.
* Curiosity for innovation, materials and craftsmanship, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's Degree
* 3-4 years of experience
