PbGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION /b /ppbr/ppThe main goal of the EMEA Engineering team is to develop new products or product variants that will strengthen our position in the market as well as to support other departments (Sales, Manufacturing, Quality) in all product engineering related matters. /ppAs part of the EMEA engineering team, your focus will be on pump design. You will be the main reference for one or more product development projects, many of which will be manufactured abroad. Your responsibility will include the correct definition of drawings and specifications for new products as well as the definition, validation, and implementation of design changes or new product variants. To do this, you will count on the support of the experienced engineering team in Dueville (Italy), and you will need to collaborate with other engineering teams abroad, specifically in Izmir (Turkey). /ppYou will also need to become familiar with product compliance aspects, related to safety, energy efficiency, material regulations and other requirements. /ppbr/ppbESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES /b /ppbr/pulliUnderstands existing pump designs and critical dimensions and characteristics. /liliUnderstands pump assembly processes and controls. /liliVisits production sites and creates collaborative relationships with the key stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing) /liliUnderstands legal requirements of products in the reference markets. /liliVerifies conformity to standards and Directives and contributes to the fulfillment of all compliance related requirements. /liliVerifies existing drawings and technical documentation and modifies it to include tolerances and control specifications in coordination with the production plant. /liliIs responsible for the release of drawings and technical documentation. /liliProposes ideas for new developments and product modifications to improve the competitiveness of our products (cost reduction, quality improvement,…) /liliDefines technical solutions on new developments or product modifications along with the Project Team. /liliManages design changes and new developments from a technical perspective. /liliUnderstands pumping systems (pump-motor-electronic drive) and the interactions between the components. /liliUnderstands customer technical needs. /liliSupports Manufacturing, Sales, and Service/Quality departments on product specific issues. /liliCoordinates with Franklin Electric Engineering Global organization, especially concerning certification activities. /liliParticipates in analysis of products from main competitors. /liliCreates and manages DFMEA, DVPR and other related technical documents working together with the engineering team. /li /ulpbr/ppbr/ppbSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES /b /pulliNone. /li /ulpbr/ppbPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS /b /ppbSkills and Abilities /b /pulliHas passion and skills for technical matters and product design /liliPrecision, reliability and organization skills are required. /liliReads, analyzes, and understands product directives, technical norms, specifications, and certification requirements /liliIs a good communicator and works well in teams. /liliKnows product development tools such as CAD-CAE, DFMEA, tolerance stack up analysis, DVPR, etc. /liliKnows various manufacturing processes (casting, machining, molding, etc.) /liliGood problem-solving abilities, capacity to organize effectively his/her own work and time. /liliReads, writes, and speaks English fluently. /li /ulpbr/ppbEducation and Experience /b /pulliBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related degree (required). /liliAt least 2-3 years of experience on design duties in Engineering or RD department. /liliExperience in 3D modeling (Creo, Pro/E and/or SolidWorks) would be an advantage /liliPrevious experience in compliance matters, such as IEC requirements, ATEX requirements or other would be considered a plus, although it is not a mandatory requirement. /li /ulpbr/ppbComputer Skills /b /pulliKnowledge of the basic MS office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) /li /ul
