Works with site/cluster management to ensure compliance with Health & Safety laws, Environmental Emissions laws, and supports implementation of the 'Get To Zero' program. Acts as the appointed Health & Safety Responsible Person (RSPP) under D.Lgs. 81/2008 for the sites in scope. Split responsibilities: 80% Health & Safety, 20% Environmental.Responsibilities
Understand, research and monitor relevant local HS laws, effectively inform all relevant internal and external stakeholders and propose actions to complySupport the Cluster Operations manager, Country Manager and site management in managing requests, visits and reports to regulatory HS authoritiesCollaborate with the regional HS and CoE HS to support role out of the GTZ program, share good practices in the HS community and develop HS trainingsReport and classify HS incidents + participate in HS Incident Investigations done by Cluster leadership to identify root causes, corrective and preventive actions.Engage & provide information to consultants, suppliers or medical service providers to perform HS measurements, assessments or inspections + analyze reports + enter dataTimely report HS performance data to different stakeholders, using SAM & PowerBIDevelop the site emergency response plans and support site leadership in organizing training & exercises on itDevelop site Risk Registers and keep up to date. Train relevant people in risk assessment methodologies like SOP and LMRA relevant dataInspect workplaces and incident locationsVerify in the workplace Critical Controls and perform Process ConfirmationsPerform risk assessments in the workplaceEnsure that visitors and contractors are properly inducted and new employees onboarded in Sibelco's HS rulesAnswer HS related questions in the fieldProvide support during execution of HS motive projectsInfluence & coach site leadership, supervisors and operators to build a safety culture in the site & promote safety in shift or handover meetingsRoll out or support supervisors in delivering HS related trainingsUnderstand legal obligations and permit conditions regarding environmental emissions for the sites and locations in scopeSet up the monitoring systems and ensure that emissions are measured on the required frequencyEngage with consultants to perform the measurements, obtain the environmental data and analysis reportsDiscuss emission results with the cluster responsibles and SustainabilityEnsure necessary data and analysis reports are sent to the authorities in timeSupport environmental inspections on emission measurement (not on other permit conditions) on site (incl. preparation of requests on measurements from authorities)Initiate remediation actions in relation to emissions, if needed, and pro-actively follow upPropose improvements and discuss with cluster responsibles and sustainability
Qualifications
Higher or postgraduate education in the field of occupational safety & healthA minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety position in an industrial or manufacturing environmentExperience working with corporate headquarters or international structures will be an advantageVery good knowledge of Italian labor and health & safety legislationSolid experience with Legislative Decree 81/08 is requiredBasic understanding of Legislative Decree 624/96Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards and internal auditor's authorization is an advantageAbility to work independently as well as part of a dispersed, international teamAbility to coach and mentor a team member as well as manage consultantsWillingness to travel to the different sites regularly (80% of the time)
