Our customer is looking for a Field Engineer to join its growing operations team in Italy, supporting broadband and Wi‑Fi installations across student accommodation sites.
This is a field‑based role suited to someone with a practical cabling or telecommunications background who enjoys hands‑on work and is comfortable working on active construction sites.
The successful candidate will be based in the Milan area due to the volume of work there, while also travelling to sites across Northern and Central Italy as required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys and pre-installation inspections
Install and test CAT5/CAT6, Ethernet, and fibre cabling
Support Wi‑Fi and broadband network deployments
Carry out fault finding, maintenance, and repairs
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, contractors, and customers
Ensure installations meet quality and safety standards
What We’re Looking For
Experience in structured cabling, telecoms, broadband, or field installations
Comfortable working on construction and student accommodation sites
Basic networking knowledge with a willingness to learn
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Italian and English language skills (French would be beneficial)
Full driving licence
Flexible approach to travel and workload
This role would suit candidates from telecoms installation or broadband provider backgrounds such as Sky, Virgin Media, BT, TIM, Vodafone, Fastweb, Open Fiber, or similar field‑based environments. xjrgpwk
