Position
Support the engineering design activities mainly referring to the complex machines, mechanisms and robotics applications for the nuclear sector/application. Design/sizing of bespoke machines including the identification of the “fit for purpose” solutions, from conceptual/basic to detailed design including the details necessary to manage the supply/manufacturing of these machines according to the national and international codes.
Main responsibilities:
1. Ensure the execution of design activities with best engineering practices;
2. Technical specs, structural and mechanical stress analysis calculation (including the by formula approach), modelling and drawings, purchase technical specification, technical evaluation of the Supplier’s offers, technical follow-up of the supplies;
3. Follow up the manufacturing, the FAT, the on-site installation and testing activities of the mentioned machines;
4. Coordinate mono-disciplinary working groups;
5. Identify and manage the internal & external interfaces (stakeholders within the project delivery framework).
Requirements
6. Master or equivalent Degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering or equivalent;
7. 5 years’ experience in mechanical components design (preferably in a highly regulated industrial sector).
Basic competences:
8. Mechanical Design of bespoke complex machines, including aspects related to manufacturing and assembly, welding and non-destructive testing;
9. Design/integration of EC&I on-board systems/components;
10. 3D modelling (CREO / CATIA V5) and BIM methodology integration;
11. Relevant construction/manufacturing norms and standard (e.g., ASME, RCC-M and/or EURO codes, etc.);
12. Finite Element Modelling software (e.g., ANSYS or similar struct. analysis SW) and Multiphysics SW.
Fundamental knowledge:
13. Nuclear specific codes and standard for safety application, environmental and/or seismic qualification (e.g., ASME, RCC-M, KTA, IEEE, IEC);
14. Relevant EU Directives (e.g., Machinery);
15. Experience in site works.
Additional skills:
16. Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment;
17. Capability to take initiative, with a proactive attitude and personal drive;
18. Ability to manage relationships: customer/supplier, between partners (in national or international JVs);
19. Good knowledge of English language (spoken and written, fluent);
20. No preclusion to trip’s time, duration and destination.
