Job Description Position: Trade Marketing Expert (Italy)Position Reports to: Senior Trade & Marketing Manager – Southern EuropeLocation: Milan, ItalyIndustry: FMCG – Healthcare / BeautyRole PurposeThe Trade Marketing Expert is responsible of a brand portfolio for executing brand, trade marketing and category management strategies in the Italian market, with a strong focus on collaboration with the local distributors in Mass market and pharmacy channel.This role acts as a key interface between Brand Marketing, distributors, and field sales teams, ensuring excellent execution of 4P drivers, activations and in-store visibility to drive sell-out performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDistributor & Channel Partnership (Core Focus)Act as the primary Marketing partner for the Italian distributors, ensuring strong alignment on priorities, campaigns, and executionSupport and guide distributor sales teams with trade marketing expertise and toolsCo-develop and implement customer and pharmacy activation plansEnsure excellent execution across the pharma/pharmacy channel and key accountsMonitor distributor performance and propose corrective actions where neededTrade Marketing & ActivationDevelop and deploy trade marketing plans adapted to the distributor modelLead in-store activations, POS materials, and visibility initiativesCoordinate product & brand launches and promotional cycles (canvass) with distributors and sales teamsDeliver compelling sales support materials and presentationsPromotions & Commercial ExcellenceDesign and manage consumer promotions (bundles, contests, special packs)Drive promotional pack creation and assortment optimization in collaboration with distributorEnsure strong ROI and execution quality of all trade initiativesMarket Insights & PerformanceTrack sell-in / sell-out performance and market dataConduct store checks, distributor reviews, and competitor analysisProvide actionable insights to optimize trade strategy and activation plansCross-functional CollaborationWork closely with Marketing, Ecom, Sales, Supply Chain, Business Analyst, Finance, and external agenciesPartner with distributor on forecasting and demand planning inputsCoordinate with regional teams to ensure consistency with EMEA strategyAI & Digital EnablementContinuously explore opportunities to improve efficiency and impact through automation and AI-supported decision-makingOperational ExcellenceManage product coding, POS materials, promotionsOversee supplier coordination (agencies, POS materials, packaging)Ensure timely execution and delivery of all trade activitiesCandidate ProfileExperience4–6 years in Trade Marketing / Marketing / Sales within FMCGExperience working with distributors or indirect sales models is highly preferredBackground in healthcare, beauty, or pharmacy channel is a strong advantageSkills & CompetenciesStrong commercial acumen and customer focusProven ability to work cross-functionally and influence externally (distributors)Excellent execution and project management skillsAnalytical mindset with data-driven decision-makingAgility, ownership, and hands-on approachDigital curiosity and interest in AI-driven tools and solutionsEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related fieldSuccess FactorsStrong partnership with the Italian distributors and sales teamsExcellence in pharmacy channel executionAbility to translate strategy into high-impact trade activationEffective use of data and AI tools to drive performanceMaintaining sustainable workload and collaboration within the team
