Job Overview Amazon Data Services, Inc. (AWS) is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing infrastructure operations team. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. In this role you will scale support across several data center locations, provide day-to-day assistance with capacity management, and collaborate closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. You will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise-class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting, working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. Key Responsibilities Managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects. Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords. Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment. Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware. Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. You must have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license. A day in the life: Providing first‑level networking devices to serve our customer racks – tracking rack intake and delivery, coordinating rack space, power, and cooling, and partnering with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready. Console and room builds that increase space and capacity for customer racks. Working with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices. Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41 pounds. Work in an environment that operates 24/7, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed. Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments. Perform bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8 hours a day. Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation. Basic Qualifications 1 years of computer networking experience. 1 years of Linux operating systems experience. 1 years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience. Preferred Qualifications Data center experience. Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network). Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters. Knowledge of major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).
